Stacy and Frank are an amazing couple who were married just last month in front of their closest friends and family. People came from as far as Maine to celebrate their wedding and the union of this great couple! Stacy and Frank worked hard to plan and prepare their wedding and made their home and backyard the perfect place for their ceremony and reception. Their backyard has a picturesque look and feel to it and they said their vows and “id-o’s” perched atop this wonderful hilltop that they have. We were fortunate to have a perfect summer day – plenty of sun and blue skies everywhere! You can tell by the images that these two love birds care deeply for each other and the smiles that they had that day were infectious. I had a blast taking their photos after the ceremony, they were laughing and have a great time. We tried to choreograph the scene from Dirty Dancing when Patrick Swayze lifts Jennifer Gray above his head and that was so much fun! They were laughing the whole time and I find these images to be both candid and revealing, as it they show how affectionate and in-love they are with one another, as well as show that these guys know how to have fun. That is what it is all about for me – documenting and revealing the connections/love that people have with one another for all-time! Stacy and Frank, thank you so much for making me apart of your wedding day. It was an honor to spend the evening with you and get to document this momentous occasion!

krristy griffin - Beautiful pictures of Stacy and frank on thier wedding day

On tap today is a summer engagement session at The Fork! It was a scorcher on the day that I met up with Ellen and Gavin for their engagement session. To combat the heat, we met very early in the morning to take advantage of cooler temperatures. We opted for a location that had plenty of fields, barns and shade of course! I love how this session feels “summery” if there is such a word! I used the barns, stables, fence-line, and carriage house at The Fork to provide some wonderful backdrops for Ellen and Gavin’s session. I look forward to their wedding later in October! Here are a handful from their session:

Jennifer and Patrick were recently married at the beautiful Burntshirt Vineyards, followed by a wonderful reception at Kenmure Country Club in Hendersonville. I had the pleasure of shooting an engagement session with Jennifer and Patrick at these two locations last fall, you can see that session here. Faith and family were such an important part of Jennifer and Patrick’s wedding and that is something that impressed me greatly. Prayer and the acknowledgement of how important God is to their relationship was something that I found moving and very special. Familial bonds were evident in so many ways. For example, Jennifer had a piece of her grandmother’s dress sewn into her own dress to honor her memory that day, something that I thought was unique! The ceremony was lovely, tears of joy could been seen in many faces and one of my personal favorite images from the ceremony was of Jennifer and her dad walking into the ceremony and the look on Patrick’s face when he sees Jennifer for the first time that day. We did battle with the elements following the ceremony in the form of thundershowers, but undeterred, these two rolled with it and we got some exceptional images of the two of them at Kenmure Country Club. I was honored to have been apart of Jennifer and Patrick’s big day and I wish them good fortune and happiness for decades to come!

When I first met Kendyl and Trevor, I knew I wanted to do something unique for their engagement session ahead of their October wedding. The two of them are fun to be around and have the best personalities. They are two great people who deserved two great locations for their e-session. So I started planning their session by scoping out some new locations for the shoot. I wanted to go someplace different, but altogether unique and private. I also wanted a place that would be somewhat magical really, somewhere that provided the perfect backdrop for this exceptional couple! Fortunately, I found the perfect place for their session in the form of a bamboo forest. I just love the lines of the bamboo crisscrossing in the background, some in focus, much of it out of focus. I also like how it looks either in color or B&W! What I like most in the case of this session is how the bamboo sets off the subjects – Kendyl and Trevor. The environment both envelops and emboldens them all at the same time! That is exactly what I wanted with this session, to find an immersive environment that accentuated my clients in the most unique way. The session was a real blast and I love both the romantic shots of them, as well as the funny candids of them laughing and enjoying one another. After finishing with the bamboo forest, we headed to on open field near a lake for some of those really wonderful spring/summer late-afternoon shots that are forever timeless and forever classic for their warmth and feel. I am looking forward to October when these two get married as I know the wedding will be truly outstanding! More to come!!!
