Portrait Session at Hornets Nest Park Charlotte

Charles contacted me about doing a winter shoot outdoors.  It can be tough doing outdoor shoots in the winter, not so much because of the cold, but because of the lack of foliage and greenery in general.  Often when your dealing with winter shoots like these and your looking for locations that have vibrant colors, you essentially have to steer clear of most parks and natural locations.  Parks are often very gray in the winter, so you have to know the best places to go.  In this case, I wanted to go someplace close to where I met up with Charles for some quick indoor headshots and had plenty of color and greenery.  Hornets Nest Park was just the place.  The park works since it boasts huge pine trees that hold their green needles all year long, plus a nice rustic bridge to boot.  Here are some from the session.
