Daniel Stowe Botanical Gardens is such a lovely place for a wedding! It is one of the finest venues in the Charlotte area for an outdoor wedding and reception. Candice & James were recently married there and I was able to capture their nuptials on a perfect Summer day! Candice had a beautiful dress and wore an amazing pair of Manholo Blahnik shoes. James looked spiffy in his black tux and the two of them made a gorgeous couple! Candice did such a great job planning her wedding and the reception was SO elegant. I love how crisp and beautiful the flowers looked and all in attendance had a wonderful time. Best wished Candice and James, you two were simply amazing!

I’m really happy to unveil Caitlin and Jack’s wedding at Saratoga Springs today! I always love going out to Saratoga Springs, as it is a photographer’s paradise with it’s lush landscaping and picturesque backdrops! We dodged some early showers and were able to get some wonderful images. Caitlin and Jack wanted to do a “first look” and man did it really turn out well! We got a little creative with this first look and drew out the anticipation by having Caitlin and Jack back-to-back. Anything to help build the excitement! Some of the best weather of the day arrived just in time for the ceremony. The sun always filters through the trees perfectly at Saratoga Springs! I always love how the sun drenches the leaves rendering them golden and warming up all the imagery. This especially makes the horse-drawn carriage shots magical! After the ceremony, we took some time to get a little crazy with the bridal party group shots! I had the bridesmaids and groomsmen swap bouquets and jackets. I also had the guys mimic shots that are usually reserved for the ladies.. so funny! All in all this wedding was very memorable and so much fun! Congrats Caitlin and Jack, you guys put on one heck of a great wedding!

Dawn & Darrell will be getting married this October, so I met up with them recently for an engagement session! We met early to avoid the heat, luckily we picked the perfect day – the first one after this recent oppressive heat wave. So no worries about sweat or makeup, etc., just good fun walking around Freedom Park capturing this awesome couple! Dawn brought along some great props for the session. She and Darrell are big football fans, but they are NFC South rivals in that one likes Atlanta and the other New Orleans! This made for some fun shots, they even had a football with their wedding date on it! After a change of cloths we moved around the park and got some great captures. I am in love with the warmth of these images. Here are a but a few from the session. I am looking forward to their wedding in October!

The summer wedding season continues and this week I am highlighting Shannon and Andy’s wedding at Firethorne Country Club.  Firethorne has the most amazing entrance for outdoor weddings!  Shannon and Andy were surrounded by so many of their family and friends, many of them traveling from long distances to be there to celebrate their marriage.  Shannon’s dress was so beautiful and she had the most amazing veil that made for some stunning images!  I really enjoy going out to Firethorne, as I am always able to capture very warm, rich, sun-washed images that just have “summer” written all over them.  As always, I wanted to capture the amazing surroundings, but I also wanted to document the intimacy of the moment and the love that Shannon and Andy have for one another. The wedding was awesome and the reception was one big party from start to finish!  Best wishes to Shannon and Andy, I was honored to spend the day with you two!  Congratulations!
