It was a perfect Fall day for Laura and Mike’s recent wedding.  The leaves were colorful and the location of their wedding was simply sensational.  We began the day at First Presbyterian Church in Salisbury for the ceremony and finished off at the Salisbury Train Depot for the reception.  Both location are exceptional as you can see from the images below. I love the church for it’s classic design, including the huge columns and large steeple.  The Salisbury Depot is both historic and perfect for a wedding reception.  Laura and Mike were so great to be around for the day!  I loved Laura’s dress and colorful bouquet.  Mike loves to fish and Laura surprised him with a one-of-a-kind grooms cake that was fishing themed.  Mike totally surprised Laura by taking them both to the reception by horse-drawn carriage.  Her look of surprise was priceless!   I was so happy that they had a formal exit from the church with their guests blowing bubbles.  You just don’t see that very much anymore, but I love that they decided to do it at their wedding.  We had fun getting some of their photos on the front steps of the church and on the streets of Salisbury.  The reception was great and I was honored to have been apart of Laura and Mike’s big day.  Best wishes guys and congratulations again!

Wow, look at some of the colors from a recent family session!  Nature has been helping me out lately by providing stunning backdrops.  These cute kids are draped in color and I love the bold saturated oranges, yellows and reds!  Their personality comes through and even though it was a bit cold outside these guys did a wonderful job.  I love this time of year!

I have been dying to post some newer engagement sessions, it has been awhile since my last post on one.  My most recent engagement shoot took me right into my backyard – Belmont, NC.  I don’t get to shoot in my own town that much, but I always relish the opportunity to do so.  What I like about my town is how down home it feels and the variety of cool spots in/around downtown.  I met up with Laura and Keith for what would turnout to be a very colorful fall engagement session.  Between the train cars, fall foliage and setting sun, we were able to pull together a wonderful session rich with color pop!  This session represents my photographic style very well – strong color, lots of contrast, deep blacks, and plenty of intimacy/emotion.  Best wishes to Laura and Keith as they plan their wedding and begin their life together!

I have had the pleasure of taking the Cline Family photos since 2007.  It is so cool since I am able to see their kids grow up right before my camera.  This year we met up in Belmont for the annual family holiday photo shoot.  These images really glow with color, from the clothing and the train cars.  Here are some from the session that I really love!
