Today I am featuring Kendyl and Trevor’s wedding at Firethorne Country Club in Marvin, NC. I really love Firethorne, especially since is has one of the best outdoor spots for a wedding ceremony in the Charlotte Metro area. Nothing can beat their grand staircase and it is the perfect entrance for the bride-to-be! I could go on and on about the place, but I will let the images prove this point! I was really looking forward to this wedding, definitely a highlight for 2016. Ever since I was given the honor of documenting Kendyl and Trevor’s wedding, I looked forward to this day at one of my favorite venues during my favorite month of the year. Earlier in the year, I had the pleasure of shooting Kendyl and Trevor’s engagement session. You can see highlights of that session here. I knew when I shot their session that they were very special people! In both the engagement and wedding photos I can see from their smiles how much they care for each other. It is written all over their faces! Kendyl and Trevor were blessed with perfect weather on this fall day, blue skies and great temps. I particularly loved their wedding ceremony and the heartfelt kiss the two of them shared as they exited the ceremony and made their way down the isle, stopping for just a second to preserve the moment one last time. It is that moment that I think of the most, as it encapsulated so much of what wedding are all about, but at the same time cemented what I recognized from them so early on – their unbounded love for each other. Their wedding reception was a blast and their friends and family danced the night away! I shoot so many weddings, but their reception was without doubt one for the most vibrant and exciting! Congrats Kendyl and Trevor, you two were simply amazing! Special thanks to DeLayna Kenney McCallum for always being the best colleague to work with – helping me out and getting so many awesome images!

I am fortunate that I am able to occasionally work closely with friends and family! Callie and Greg will be getting married next May and I am so looking forward to their wedding. We all grew up in Anson County and I had a blast hanging out with them and taking their engagement pictures last month. I decided I wanted to venture back out to the bamboo forest for their shoot. I love this location because it really is a romantic spot where you can see just how much Callie and Greg love each other. We also tied in a location next to Lake Wylie and finished up at a barn that reminds me of where we all grew up! We pushed it until the sun went down and we were all out of light. Callie and Greg look so great in this set of images and I love the way the fall foliage and sunlight envelop them in these pictures. I really enjoyed working with my cousin and his bride-to-be and will have more to share from their wedding next year!

mary and george hodge - I love my grandson and future granddaughters pictures, thank you, mary lou hodge great job

I am on a mission to roll out a new blog post everyday this week! The holiday season of sessions is winding down, so the time has come to show off some of my awesome clients and their families! Today I am featuring the Bryant family. This family was a pleasure to work with and the boys were so much fun to photograph. I brought my famous bench out to this shoot, because I had not used it in a long time and thought it would be perfect for a family shot of the Bryants. Often times the locations I shoot at don’t have anywhere to sit, so I sometimes bring my own seating! It is just a little something I do to create variety with the shots. I have been fortunate this year to have had great weather at nearly all of my shoots, owning to the recent dry spell. The Bryant family looks so great in their attire and the willow trees make such a great backdrop in some of the images. Well that is it for today, I’ll be back tomorrow with another session, or maybe a wedding!

I’ve been moving around to new locations this year. One of the places I have frequented is an old barn and farm house that has this wonderful overgrown field. This year I have shot a number of fall/holiday sessions at this particular location and I love the warm airy feel of the images I take there. My goal here is to get a rustic feel, but have plenty of warm sunlight to backlight my clients and give my images plenty of punch. Today’s featured session is the Cline family. They are one of my longest clients and they go way back! I have been taking their family pictures since their kids were born and I always enjoy our sessions. I never have a shortage of smiles from them and here are but a few of my favorites!
