Freedom Park is one of the best places to meet families for a session. It is centrally located in the heart of Charlotte. It offers plenty of walking trails. It has nice bridges, tall trees, and large pond at its center. My favorite feature is it’s huge Willow trees which always make a nice backdrop and are usually fun for kids to play with. I met the Wilson family there recently for a session and caught tons of cool shots with available light only. As much as I like to use softboxes, fill-light, and other off-camera lighting on location, on this occasion I went all natural. That was what I was feeling that day and for this family.
