Evan and Angela get the award for best dressed for their recent engagement session in Charlotte.  They both love to ride their bicycles and wanted to have a session that incorporated their bikes, the city, and their personality.  The combination of their cool choice of cloths and the bikes made for a fantastic engagement session.  The vintage look of the images befits the feel of the session in my opinion.  This was no doubt some of my favorite shooting of the year and I really love these images.  Hope you do as well.  Can’t wait for their wedding in September.

I have been photographing Maddie since before she was born, well kind of.  When Amy & Clay were expecting Maddie I took their maternity photos.  Take a look here.  I also had the pleasure of taking Maddie’s very first session as seen here.  So I was excited to see how much she had grown and take her picture again this spring.  I met up with Amy, Clay and Maddie at a local spot that is a favorite in the spring for it’s flowers and waterfall.  Maddie came dressed appropriately for the occasion, as she blended well with the flowers.  In fact, she had a couple of outfit change during the session.  What a fun age to capture on camera!  Here are some of my favorties.

Ben & Amanda were married recently and they picked a really cool venue for their wedding a reception.  If you go back a little in the blog you can see Amanda’s bridal portraits here.  You can also see Ben & Amanda’s engagmment session here.  Ben & Amanda were married at the historic Salisbury Train Depot in the heart of downtown Salisbury.  The depot and the downtown of Salisbury is very quaint and rustic and provides an excellent location for a wedding and of course, wedding photography!  I love the buildings, the brick, the iron, steel, etc.  The hard part is deciding how to fit it all within the allocated time of a wedding.  It was an interesting day, since there were scattered thundershowers and a tornado warning during the reception!  Crazy weather for sure, but we managed to work around the passing showers and get some great shots in that I was really pleased with.  I love how Ben & Amanda planned their day, it was very classy from the venue right down to every detail.  Congrats Ben & Amanda!

Brent - I can’t wait until your wedding! It will be awesome!

Mark & Stephanie met me uptown for a session recently.  They are an awesome couple!  Wait until you see these shots below.  They came dressed in very stylist attire to start off with and changed into something more casual for the back half of the session.  As I was snapping the pics and looking at them, the light, the way the day felt, etc, it dawned on me that I should add a vintage feel to the images.  I don’t exactly why, but the session and the look seemed appropriate for many of the images.  I’m not a big time “photoshopotographer”  or anything, generally preferring to keep my images fairly clean, with robust contrast with a little extra saturation.  However, the selection below are something new and I quite like them.  Many of the images below have a vintage look to them by making them giving them less contrast, muted/warm tones, and other tidbits to make them look old.  This is one of my favorite sessions of the year!  I just had a great time and Mark and Stephanie were just so great in front of the camera making my job that much easier.  Thanks Mark and Stephanie!
