Today is an exciting day for me! For quite some time I have wanted to shoot an engagement session at Biltmore Estate. The reasons are obvious – lush landscape, beautiful vistas, facade of the mansion, the list goes on….. There are so many great places for backdrops that the biggest issue is deciding where NOT to photograph! Even better than shooting at Biltmore is the fact that I would be shooting an incredible couple there – Hayden & Billy! These two are so awesome and I was so very happy that they asked me to shoot their engagement session and wedding. Getting to photograph this couple was a huge score for me! They are electric together and on camera and I made an instant connection with them when we first met to talk about their wedding. Biltmore was a natural fit for Hayden and Billy because that is where they took their first trip together! It is an important part of their story, one that I was excited to share in on this perfect day. I have so many favorite images from this shoot that I cannot begin to name them all. That being said, I will let the images speak on my behalf! Part two of this story will be the wedding in Las Vegas next year. I am stoked to be heading west to photography these guys on the biggest day of their lives!

Now that Dawn’s wedding is over I can finally post the images from her bridal session. We met up at Separk Mansion in Gastonia to shoot this session and the venue did not disappoint. Separk Mansion is wonderful for weddings of course, but it serves as a fantastic location for indoor portraiture, particularly bridal sessions! What I like about the property is that there is plenty of available light. Some of the images below were shot with some off-camera lighting for fill, but the windows and the sun provided the dynamic light that I long for in my work. Dawn looks spectacular in her dress and she glows throughout the images below. I look forward to posting images from her wedding in the near future!

    Alicia - Stunning!

When my cousin Lonnie asked me to photograph his wedding I was ecstatic! Every wedding I shoot is fun for me, as I am truly a VIP with an all-access pass from beginning to end. I am there for all the emotional events and I feel them just as much as any other guest. When it is your own family that you are working with, those same feelings are present, but also enhanced in so many ways! It is the same feeling I get with all weddings, but with an added family feel and connection that makes it all the more special. Andria and Lonnie are made for each other and that was apparent the first time I met with them to discuss their wedding. As you will see in the images below (particularly the first-look segment), they show an undeniable love for one another from the moment they make eye contact. As I have mentioned many times before on my blog, it is hard to describe what love is. However, you know it when you feel it and there is no question that you know it when you see it in others! The visual proof is below! For me, it was great spending the day with my family and seeing my cousin overflowing with happiness and joy. Congratulations Andria and Lonnie! I am very happy for you and am so grateful for being apart of your wedding day.

Oh boy, I have been ready to post this wedding from Rocky River Vineyards for the past week! Rebecca and Jeff were married there recently and I was so impressed with the venue and the layout! Vineyards are one of the best places for photography and what I liked about Rocky River Vineyards is that they have a sweet setup for the ceremony location. They have a beautiful barn that serves as a backdrop for the ceremony and it is all nestled within the rows of the vineyard itself! Rebecca and Jeff had such a wonderful wedding there. I personally love the shots we were able to get by the barn and near the rows of vines, as well as those late in the evening under the stars. So many cool aspects to their wedding and I love the personal touches that they had at the reception. Congratulations and best wishes Rebecca and Jeff!
