I am so excited to be posting Hayden & Billy’s wedding from the Aria Resort and Casino today! This wedding has been circled on my calendar for quite some time and this couple is the absolute best! Back in October of last year I met with Hayden & Billy at Biltmore Estate for an EPIC engagement session that you can see here. This couple is truly electric on camera! For me, this is what it is all about – capturing the love two people have for one another. Given how awesome their engagement session was, I knew that their Vegas wedding was going to be outstanding! Let me tell you, this wedding was one of the most memorable I have experienced in my 11-years as a wedding photographer. I arrived in Vegas the day before the wedding and had a great time scouting locations for the wedding day. The Aria Resort is simply amazing and the hard part (like Biltmore Estate) is trying to narrow down where you want to shoot given all the incredible places that the property has to offer. I knew I wanted to bring in some of the glitz and bold lighting that you see in Las Vegas, so we achieved that inside Aria, as well as on the strip in front of the Bellagio Fountains! I also wanted to bring in some lush greenery, flowers, etc., and the Aria Sky Pool provided plenty of that! Finally, I always try to find water (ponds, lakes, fountains, etc.) to add to the background. Luckily, Aria has an amazing cascading wall of water right in front of the resort. Hayden and Billy looked great and these images are so much fun! I even got a little artsy and used a prism to create some one-of-a-kind images that look like double-exposures. I loved this wedding and the laid-back family feel of the day left an indelible impression on me, something I will never forget! Hayden and Billy, thank you for having me document your Las Vegas wedding. I was very honored to be there to capture the mood, the love, the family, and all the important moments from your wedding day! Congrats and best wishes!!!

Ashley Cox - You both are so ridiculously good looking!!! So happy for you both. May you have a beautiful future together.

I love watching kids grow up right before my camera! It just seemed like yesterday that I was taking Hutch’s newborn photos and now he has already turned 1-year old! Hutch’s mom and dad wanted to meet up for a family session, topped off with a smash-cake session to celebrate his birthday. We started at a local park for the family session and the photos that we took there are so “spring” with all those colors. You can’t even tell that it was only in the high 40s, what with a late-spring cold snap! The images are so warm and Hutch was so excited to hold his balloon! After the family session, we moved over to my studio to document Hutch smashing his cake. He was a little reserved when it came to smashing the cake, preferring to play with it gingerly! He still gave it plenty of love taps! I love the billboard that his mom brought along to mark the occasion, right along with the “ONE” that we used in the very first picture in this stream. Happy Birthday Hutch!

It was bitterly cold this past Valentines Day, but Nicole and Nick’s wedding was still red hot! These two were ready to party and I was excited to document their big day. I had already shot their engagement pictures (seen here) and knew they would be fun to hang with on their wedding day. What a great day it turned out to be, as these guys have the best friends anyone could ask for and all of them were so awesome to work with. Even with temps in the high to mid 20s, everyone was ready and eager to have some fun with the photography outdoors! I love the feel of a Valentines Day wedding and the red just popped in all the images. Here are some highlights from the day!

Recently, I was so happy to be shooting the newborn session for the baby of one of my former couples! Janeka and Connell were having their first baby and I couldn’t have been more happy for them. They have been awesome clients and I still think about how great their wedding was at Firethorne Country Club. Baby Phoenix was wide-eyed and ready for her debut photoshoot, so I was able to get some great shots of her awake and sleeping throughout the course of the shoot. Most of these images were shot in my studio, so I had tight control over the lighting, clothing and props that were used in this session. I also shot some great window-lit portraits of the parents with Phoenix. I always like to get a combination of professionally lit and window-lit shots during a newborn shoot. Here are some of my favorites from the shoot. Congratulations Janeka and Connell! Your daughter is beautiful!
